On this belated Canadian Thanksgiving edition of the G3 Podcast, we discuss the recent allegations of PETA claiming the Pokemon franchise promotes animal abuse. They have set their sites on games in the past, such as Super Mario 3, Resident Evil and Tomb Raider, however, this is the first time theyve lobbied against Pokemon, one of Nintendos longest running and most beloved franchises. Well debate our opinions on whether PETAs accusations hold any ground, or whether it is just a publicity stunt to continue directing people to their website. A happier topic afterward? October is a historical month for console gamers, and gaming in general. As we ready for the first next-gen console release in 4 weeks, we look back at some pivotal moments of gaming that have happened in the month of October, including the birth of third party console games, and the 1985 launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System. G3 goes live at 8 PM Pacific / 11 PM Eastern
