Civil Rights legend Bob Zellner will be our special guest on Lunch with Louden. The son and grandson of Klansmen, Zellner turned away from his heritage joining the civil rights movement and later becoming the first white secretary of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Having recently turned 75 years young, Bob has been arrested 18 times fighting for equal justice in America, including April 29, 2013 on the first day of a North Carolina civil disobedience protest that became known as "Moral Monday." Eric Byler will guest host for Jeanene Louden and Debilyn Molineaux. Eric and Bob will be transmitting from Belhaven, NC where he and Annabel Park are filming for Story of America. As many of you saw on the Coffee Party Facebook page, an historic coalition anchored by Beaufort County, NC's leading Republicans and the North Carolina NAACP saved a rural hospital that had been slated for closing on April 1. "I relate deeply to the kinds of transformations we're seeing here," Zellner said yesterday after meeting African American community leader Butch Bonner, Belhaven Mayor Adam O'Neal, and others who helped to save the Vidant Pungo Hospital.
