Politics. A word that brings all sorts of imagery to mind. Power, Washington, President, world leaders, religion, progress, old-fashioned, intelligence, scandals, broken promises...politicians. It's been said that one should never talk about politics as well as religion. However, a wise man once said that religion reflects the culture and culture reflects the politics. With that in mind, in the U. S. there seems to be two major divisions of thought in the arena of politics. The conservative view, primarily promulgated by the political party of Republicans. The other is the liberal view, primarily represented by the Democrats. In the middle and outside those two are Independents, Green Party, and other smaller factions of political. If you're like me, you don't really get into political discussion. Some thinks it not important. Others don't really care. And some of us...just don't understand what the hoopla is all about. With that in mind, what is the conservative view? What is the liberal view? How do they compare and contrast? What does it mean for our decision making when we vote or take stances on issues that affect our country? Join me as I chat with Thomas D Smith about this volatile but rarely understood topic.
