Obama Won Re-Election. Diversity Matters. Get Over It! - Nov 08,2012

Jubilation is felt throughout the country and the world. President Barack Obama won a decisive re-election battle against the formidable opponent, Mitt Romney. With more than six billion dollars spent on some of most hateful and racially charged political tactics ever created, the American people pushed back, cast their vote for the President, Congressional representation, state, county, local, and ballot questions that will impact our lives for years to come. New Hampshire becomes the first state in the history of America to have an all female congressional delegation and a female governor. America has spoken and our political past is definitely in our rear view mirror. One thing for sure: Diversity matters and it's here to stay. And for some, it's a tough reality to face. My response, “Get Over It!” I was jubilant on Election Day and remain a strong supporter of our President. I celebrated the election of Massachusetts' first woman US Senator (Elizabeth Warren), and worked the polls in New Hampshire to help deliver the Democratic vote. Diversity is a way of life in our society. Yet there are some who refuse to accept that people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds are increasingly embedded into the fabric of our society. White voters dropped from 74% to 72% between 2008 and 2012, something that conservative pundits find frustrating at best. African American voters remained the same at 13%, but the Latino community grew from 9% to 10%. More than 73% of Asian votes supported President Obama, and 60% of youth under 30 supported the President. On today's show we'll analyze what happened on Election Day and why you can no longer keep your had buried in the sand. Diversity matters more than every. Listen to today's show.
