Professor of Political Science, Dept. of African American Studies- John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Basil Wilson writes a weekly column for The New York Carib News. Received Everybody's Caribbean Magazine Award, for his frequently columns and commentary as writer on cultural issues affecting the diaspora for Everybody's Caribbean Magazine. Taught African-American History, Black Social and Intellectual Thought, Race, Culture and Globalization and “The Making and Unmaking of a Culture of Violence in Jamaica” Awards: Caribbean Research Center, Medgar Evers College, CUNY, Everybody's Magazine Award.
